One of my children now commutes a few miles each day on their bike. It has a crud catcher and a set of these cheap mudguards. I found those mudguards OK for my commute earlier in the year but it seems they leave something to be desired for a youngster. 'Can you get mudguards that don't leave a mud trail like someone's s$*#ked down your back and bag'? I said 'sure. After college, ride over to NWMTB and ask the very friendly folks there what they recommend'. Maybe that helped. Maybe it didn't.

Anyhow, Singletrack gurus, what 'proper' (rear) mudguard should be in the running that will fit a Decathlon BTWin 520?

It looks like it has mounting points for rack/mudguards to me.

FWIW, it's fitted with some Schwalbe Big Ben tyres which give a bit more clearance and less pick-up than the big fat Michelin tyres it had on previously.
