I remember seeing somewhere I could use 'LHM' mineral oil (for citroen and rolls royce cars) to bleed shimano brakes but I can't find the thread?

I've got a bottle of "LHM+".....does the "+" mean its any different? Can I still use it or will it wreck them?

My brakes are Shimano M525 or somthing. My instructions say ONLY use mineral SM-DB-OIL. Unless it says that on the bottle I'm not using it!! I got it from Dales cycles for £12.

basically, it's either mineral or DOT. However, I believe the Shimano oil has a slightly different makeup and a low viscosity than the Magura stuff. It's not going to wreck your seals but in theory, you might notice the action of them is a little slower. As for your LHM+, I don't know what makes it a +. If it's seal swelling agents, that could be really bad news.

I use Halfords LHM in my XTs, with no issues at all. It's green in colour. There's no "+" on the label, though...

I brought some stuff from a citreon garage. It came in a green bottle, bnut i cant remember the exact name. It was 5 pounds, for a litre - Bargain.

And i was using the brakes that were bled with it today, and havent had any issues in the 4 months since.
