Building up the P7 for winter and the HT2 BB has crapped out. Might buy a Middleburn and square taper BB but need advice on the length of the BB?

Axle length is a function of the crank design. Back in the dim and distant Middleburn used to take a 107mm...

Now 113mm as a guide, according to their website.
