Powerlink is mine - broke chain today - 2 mins & a powerlink later & i'm back on the trail
pants. Never leave home without em.
A bike...
balls 😉
Cake, there is never a time when it isn't welcome
Mobile.
spare power links always taped underneath the saddle of all of my bikes, so i can't leave home without one 😀
talkemada beat me to it 🙂
haha thats why i changed the title but seemed to put post on twice by mistake cause there always at least one smart arse
...and me (far to slow today) 😉
On a serious note though, spare tube, levers and pump (all useless by themselves). Always thought a repair kit was good enough until I got 5 snake bites in one go (10 holes) and ran out of patches!
... on here, that's a very conservative estimate 😆at least one smart arse
Oh my goodness me... 😮
Basspine; gotta be up early to beat me, sunshine! 😉
Jungle Formula to repel them pesky flying biting wastes of space called Midges - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I hate them
It is a pump or some Co2 you only walk home once until you realise you really need to carry some sort of punture kit with you.I know somebody who had to walk 6 miles to get home on some carbon soled shoes which split with the walking
My steely grit.
Because as a singlespeeder, that's all I need...
I know somebody who had to walk 6 miles to get home on some carbon soled shoes which split with the walking
I've walked home before but I wouldn't be stupid enough to leave those sort of shoes on they'd be crippling - was it some sort of self-flagellation for breaking down?
Hel-met
Uplink
they are more comfy than bare feet on tarmac
Uplink
they are more comfy than bare feet on tarmac
I'd disagree
pump, innertube, patch kit, tire levers, multi tool, powerlink, cable ties, small first aide kit, survival blanket, phone 😳

A saddle
After PC971 let go... powerlinks and €1.60 for the tram. Oh and a bike of course 😉
Mobile- always
90% of the time its camel back with waterproof, Water in the bladder, pump, inner tube, multi tool, eats, chewing gum....
ALways wear my Helmet, wont ride with out it.
jelly babies
Apart from all the obvious safety/repair stuff....jelly babies!
edit - ooh spooky
helmet.
+1 for helmet.
tube + pump + pr kit
gloves
+2 for helmet
Mascara
Saddle.
Money
Basket
Depends where I'm riding. If its just local stuff I won't bother taking anything, if a bit further away/a longer ride then I'll take a drink, spare tube, patches (not that I've got a bloody pump though 😆 ), multi-tool, chain breaker and of course a helmet. I can do without gloves, in fact I had to take mine off earlier as they have a little too much excess palm material and my hands were moving more than without them on.
Headset press.............................erm, OK, lip salve and riding glasses - let's say helmet, gloves and cycling shorts are a given.
Lid & puncture fixing stuff. (The powerlink's in the puncture outfit box as well)
Oh, & me Alien.
No single item but I usually use at least one of these...
Allen key set, chain tool, zip ties, 3 inner tubes, pump, brake pads, power link, tyre levers.
2 or 3 water bottles and usually a thermos with coffee.
Paclite jacket and except if its baking hot, overtrousers
Spare contact lenses and glasses. Bit of money. Phone.
Helmet (goes without saying).
Map and GPS if I'm on my own.
Helmet!
Saddle Bag: Alien II, spare Hope Vision 2 battery, innertube, tyre levers, puncture kit, powerlinks.
Pump in bag/rear pocket.
A paperclip
Not really sure why, but I've asked on more than one occasion "Have you got something like a paperclip?"
After an article in SingleTrack (i think) I've been riding with minimal kit. Granted only local jaunts, so the walk home wouldn't be more than a handfull of miles.
I can't remember the last time I had a puncture, and never (touching wood) had a mechanical that stopped it rolling.
Just me, the bike, helmet and clothes. Liberating. Though I guess without the clothes would be more liberating!
Multitool tube and pump. patches and glue, power links x3 and a couple of links of chain. M6 Nut and bolt. M5 nut and bolt Unless is just a mile or two around town when I carry nothing.
since getting an alfine its a 15mm spanner and some long nose pliers to add to spare tubes, patches, levers, some spare chain links, mini pump, multi tool, mobile, mini first aid kit, energy gels and a fiver
4+5mm allen keys, cash card.... oh, and a copy of the Road Traffic lawbook, to show MTBers driving to the trail centre. 😉
Asthma inhaler. Everything else is a good idea, but not life or death.
EDIT : apart from a helmet.
