I've decided that I want to start serviceing my forx, I like doing my own maintenance and it saves money.
I have some 2007 Fox float R 120mm.
On the online manual for my forks it says to use 7wt Fox suspension fluid only, 160ml in the damper side and 30ml in the spring side oil bath:
www.foxracingshox.com/fox_tech_center/owners_manuals/07/eng/2007_om_eng.htm (click on oil volumes)
In the service help section of the Fox website it says to use 30ml of 7wt Fox suspension fluid in the spring side oil bath and 160ml of 10wt Fox suspension fluid in the damper side:
http://service.foxracingshox.com/consumers/index.htm
(click on service and then oil volumes)
So..... does anyone know off hand before I have to speak to Mojo or TFT tomorow? It would be better if they only need the 7wt (save me spending £17.90 on the 10wt fluid). Strange they contradict each other.
Thanks
Any ideas on this?
Just try it & see how the damping is
I'm not familiar with your fork. However, I'd imagine if they're anything like the 36s that the 10wt is meant for the damper cartridge (hence the relatively large volume 130ml) and the 7wt in the spring-side leg just is to keep everything lubricated (i.e. has no effect on the damper).
I just spoke to Mojo and they said 7wt would be absolutely fine for both sides so happy days.
