G'day!
My friend wants to get back into MTB'ing after some years away. He has around £1K burning a hole in his pocket. What should he get and why?
Thanks in advance,
Matt.
My lapierre pro race 300 for 500 quid and spend the rest on beet
You'll get an awful lot of beet for £500

Where will he/you ride?
what sort of riding does he want to do? XC Bridleway bashing? Messing around in the woods? Bit of both?
Once he's got through his beet 😉 he'll probably be doing XC. He doesn't want to do proper downhill. He's a Gloucester boy but will probably ride with me a fair bit around Cheltenham. Forest of Dean is close. Cwmcarn is not far and Afan is doable in a day.
Cheers!
Matt.

get a move on tho
Good bike that!
That does look like an awesome bike.
I had a 456Carbon that i built up with a Rev RL. Worked great!!
Nice one all! That looks like a real beauty and cracking value!!!!
Thanks!
Reading the OP I was going to say an Inbred / sektor forked full build. They were about 7-800 notes. But that X9 456 is very good value. The Deore one is too.
What wheel size?

Some good deals on this site;
Like the look of the High Latitude
But yeah that on one deal looks better imo
My Whippet's up for grabs at £625 (20") I'm only 1hr from Gloucester 😀
