I have a few trips planned this year, and expect to do so for the next few years. I would prefer a hard case to protect my bike, but its a xl spesh enduro. I quite like the look of a bike box alan but can't be sure my bike would fit.
Anyone got a big long travel bike in one? or any other similar case.
To give you the cons of the situation
Hard cases weigh a lot, add in the bike and is it still in luggage limits?
As for protection, packing the Blur Ltc into my Evoc on Sunday for probably the 20 or 30th time. It's travelled fine, not been damaged and the bad is light and easy to handle especially when empty.
A mate fits his XL trigger 29 into the Evoc
I have an older Thule RoundTrip which has taken a size large 29er with room to spare. I imagine the new model would be equally roomy.
Have to agree with Mr Smith on this one. I have an Evoc Bag and have used it for an XL 29er hardtail to Oz and back plus my previous XL carbon stumpy fsr 29er to the Alps and back.
The XL stumpy fitted fine, just needed to take the rear mech off to get it in but would advise doing that anyway in transit.
