And stuff?
Can one lens do sun and gloom, or multi lens jobbies?
I like my specialized adaptalites for this but I think I read they've stopped making them.
Oakley photochromics work well in both
I just wear clear tbh, the only time I really struggle is bright sun through trees. Supposedly yellow tint is good for low light conditions but I'm unconvinced.
clear.
+1 for the Oakleys. I have prescription lenses and wear them for all cycling - day, night, and everything in-between
Do they change quickly though? I remember those reactolite rapides where people came into buildings from sunshine and just walked into everything for the first minute. Serious at speed on a bike, I would think?
Endura Photochromic Cycling Glasses have done me pretty well in these situations. Not as cool as Oakley, but a bit cheaper. They never get that dark, which isn't a big deal as it's never that sunny up here, but I can happily ride through the woods in them.
My photochromatic Rudy Rydons adapt well to light/dark. They aren't the darkest, but they seem fine for all riding conditions. Including night riding.
If it's getting dark in the wood, clear only works for me. Tried yellow and makes a dull day bright, but got into dark woods and was a nightmare.
Depends how dark really, and if it's a gloomy day or if the sun is going down.
I'm currently using Bolle Contour clear and ESP safety specs. The ESP is quite good for general use and reduces glare, not bad for a semi sunny day or winter sun, but okay in gloom. Still when it gets too little light only the clear is good though.
gloomy woods in the day - photochromic
gloomy woods at night - clear
