I've been thinking about getting my first full bouncer and looking at giant trance frames.'

I mostly ride the peaks/wharncliffe etc

I'm only 5ft7, apart from a Trance what should I be looking at?

120mm upfront minimum really.

Thanks for any advice.

Turner flux
Orange ST4
Santa Cruz superlight
Cannondale rz120

Also look at Kona, Trek, Lapierre, Cube and Ghost

if you can find a small trance then it'll be perfect, I'd lend you mine as I ride the exact same places but its a medium.

or as yossarian helpfully points out, every bike company has a suitable model in its range so just look for one that fits you and tour budget.

Yeah just a frame as I have good kit to swap straight on.

Budget is only about £4-500 so second hand ideally.

Cheers for the ideas guys. Problem is a lot are £800 + frame only.

This is what I normally do.

Small 2007 - 2009 Stumpjumper FSR.

Medium Heckler.

2006 medium Giant Trance.

Stick up a wanted add and see what people offer. There are plenty of frames that would suit, you also have the likes of a Trek EX to concider or i'll whisper this one maybe one of the newer marins

5ft7 so I'm guessing a medium would be too big?

Only tried a small you see.

I've found some mediums ok for me (6ft2) and some mediums "almost" ridiculously small. Spesh's come up longer don't they whereas some other brands - SantaCruz can be shorter in reality on the toptube. Especially SC which sometimes measure shorter than their figures state.

Just broadens the search/availability for you and of course depends on your own taste of stretch etc etc.

My GF's 5'8" on a medium 2009 Superlight with layback post & 100mm stem with 120mm Reba's.
Picked it up for £400.

Reign or Enduro, picked up cheap frames from ebay for both our girls and used existing bits from out grown bikes

Or even one of these

Dickie has a great deal there. You could even resell choice bits back on STW.

Trek Fuel EX would probably be top of my list.

Canyon probably do something which is stunning value and rides good.

I'm 5'7" (well, maybe 5'6" and a bit). I ride a medium Turner Flux. Fits a treat. According to the sizing chart I was on the cusp of small / medium but I'm pretty certain the small would have been way way too small.

I love the bike as well. Climbs really well and confidence inspiring on the downs.
