Some sort of sandwich/pizza/pasta/pitta/wrap, malt loaf (cut in half lengthways and buttered), bananas, sainsbury's fizzy strawberry straws (for those hits of sugar when needed) and sometimes flapjacks. Probably not the ideal but keeps me happy ๐Ÿ˜€

Rowntrees fizzy fruits. A wrap or a bagel or two. Some sort of cake in the car. Fruit for healthiness.

Bananas! Those, fruit cake and the really cheap waitrose(sp?) flapjacks that make your teeth feel funny from the amount of sugar in them!

I usually have a bag of dried fruit in the bottom of my bag, living there (literally) 'just in case'. The currant ๐Ÿ˜‰ one was opened in earnest about a fortnight ago when bonk set in. It had got damp and fermented. Boozy apricots- fantastic!

A mate used to carry 'emergency rations' in his sea kayak. Pedigree Chum!- he reasoned that a Mars bar or two would get scoffed anyway so wouldn't be there when he REALLY needed it, so the dog food was so objectionable that it would only be eaten in extremis!

I've taken WillowDog on a few rides recently in the Beacons. She ignores the sheep now. Rides just to the front left or front right of me. Brilliant. But she's not trail food. I carry a faggot or a pork pie for her, as well as my alcoholic apricots for me.

Of course it all depends on how long the ride is. I usually have first breakfast before setting off but on an all day ride I need:
Second breakfast
Elevenses
First lunch
Second lunch
Mid afternoon snack
and If its a real long day
Afternoon tea
Dinner
and supper. got to do the carb loading thing.

Next enduro race I enter I shall stop for a picnic halfway round a lap

As above, depends on the ride. A quick 40-50 mile sprint and I won't bother. Anything more than that and I'll usually take sweets for a boost and maybe bananas for a serious ride.

I always take a banana, don't always eat it though.

Also Go bars but nearly out of these and will revert to flap jacks.

Longer rides depends on what likely food stops are available en-route.

asda's organic granola bars. chewy without being to hard and full of the right stuff.

even better because they only cost 99p for 5 bars.

fave tea stops on longer rides for cake and hot choccy
