Looking for some new pedals, been out of the loop for a bit, whats good? and whats cheap and good?
I may buy some low end ones until I can save up for some bling ones for my new SB6. (would have to be orange or Turq Though).

I'm pleased with these, good colour choice and cheap. They do a plastic version as well which are cheaper and look cheaper but are functionally the same if you just want some to use until you get bling pedals.
Superstar Nano Evo - sooner or later they'll do another money off code and they'll be about £35
Crank Bros Stamp? Seem decent and in multiple colours if you're being a tart.
Burgtec plastic. All good
That bike needs black pedals, colours are naff.
Burgtec penthouse mk4 are the best I've tried, composite version if ye wanna go cheaper.
I really like my HT AE03’s when you’ve saved up enough. That is a nice bike!
+1 for burgtec composites
Burgtech's +1

Turq pedal colour perfect for the Yeti
Still using v12's after 20+ years. Work, lightish in mag, take a beating and easily serviced if they get squeaky.
Burgtec Composites - reviews all great, price is a bargain, and they come in orange.

Think Burgtec have slightly shot themselves in the foot by making these such good value versus their alu ones.
cheers burgtec composites look ideal, your right though I think ill go black, and save up for some bling alu/ti ones.
FYI Tweeks have go the penthouse mk4 for £90 (RRP £100)
Orange looks a good match for your frame, as it goes. (I'd have black myself, whether alu or composite)

Nukeproof Horizon's are worth a look too:

Burgtec plastic. All good
This and to note if your feet tend to wander outboard then fit pedal insert extenders as the Burgys sit rather close to crank arms.
I use both alloy and composite mkivs and they are both v v good
tdog

Or just ask them to fit their "boost" axles which move the pedal out a bit, was no extra charge for me

Or a stroke of marketing genius.
Burgtec pedals used to be ~£150, then they made the Mk4's <£100, which meant everyone wanted them because they were a bargain. Then they made the plastic ones, and now everyone wants them because they're a bargain, £35 for £150 pedals! Despite costing about the same or more most other plastic pedals.
Like an Audi A1 on finance, it's an expensive Skoda Fabia in an evening suit, but to the adidas manbag sporting driver it's basically and S8 that he can't afford.
Millets have some good deals on Burgtec Mk4s currently around £71.
+1 nobeer - anything other than black will look totally crap. Nukeproof plastics are great pedals - cheap, light, grippy, tough, and with decent bearings, especially for the dosh. Rebuildable too.
Nukeproof Horizon, for extra shin skinning you can remove washers from the pins to make em longer
My experience has been budget best - Superstars, spend some cash, DMR vaults.
Surely you have to get black, coloured pedals on that bike will look tacky!
Burgtec plastics plus plus one
No better pedal (unless DMR do a plastic vault)
@thisisnotaspoon - I was thinking ore "Why would you pay £100 for their alu pedals, when their £39 plastic pedals are basically the same, but lighter?"
OK was gonna go for the burgtec Penthouse rather than buy twice, but now you have given me the boost dilema, how much extra does the boost give you? How do I know if I need it?
Currently have Wellgo B124's on my XC Bike which are fine, but want to avoid rub on my new cranks and the penthouses do look like they dont have much room?

Another vote for the Burgtec composites.
Longevity tbc but since it's the same internals as the alloy ones they should be great.
Or just ask them to fit their “boost” axles which move the pedal out a bit, was no extra charge for me
I thought the composites had the boost axle as standard?

5mm extra on each side. I’d get them, the standard ones are pretty narrow
Actually, it looks like that from the pic I posted above, @Kamikazie - might be right there
Nukeproof Horizon’s are worth a look too:
I've got a pair on 2 bikes, I really like them except they occasionally need tightening back up to stop them moving side to side on the axles.
I recommend Superstar Nanos.
Bit left field and not cheap but I like the Pedalling Innovations Catalyst pedals - not just another pedal and has some thought and science behind it. I have been really happy since changing to them from DMR - the large platform really works and they are really good for standing up on, much less tiring that normal sized pedals.
It would seem that the composite mk4s are boosted already as my alloy mk 4s are deffo not.
Got my mk 4s alloy for £60 from Millets just cause sticker was missing from box and they had slight marks to ano where cardboard insert was removed before sale.
Billy bargain!
But gonna need those boost inserts as man they’re close to arms = weird foot position
I can believe there's not been an 'what pedal?' thread before lol.
Anyone else a serial pedal destroyer? Anything DU bushed basically, tried DMR, FireEye, Superstar, Nukeproof - went through several pairs of Electrons before admitting defeat, now rebuilt and on kids bikes instead.
800 miles would be considered good... Might be a power, weight, conditions, riding thing?
Anyway risked the expense of some OneUp Alloy pedals which are full bearing (the composites are DU bushed so that's a no no for me) got over 3000 miles before the small bearings melted, a big improvement though, and bearings replaceable.
v12's I find will take a couple of peaks winters before a strip/clean/re-grease to quiet them down. then another year or two before they need bearings or bushes. Ran one set for 12 years like that and were going strong when I gave them away.
Superstar NanoX Evo's when @ £35 (which they were in July).
DMR Vaults are hands down the best flat pedals in my opinion.
Found the vaults to be very grippy but too big and I had a lot of pedal strikes with them . Changed to nukeproof horizons and find them lighter , less prone to pedal strikes and composite pedals don't give you such a jolt as alloy ones if you do bash them . Vaults also seem to be very well reviewed for longevity although mine were fine .
It depends how big your feet are.
For example the Burgtecs are tiny.
If you have bigger feet and want ultimate grip the Deity TMac is a the best.
Yh good call on Deity ones for the size upwards of 11uk
+1 DMR Vaults
Got Hope F20s on my hardtail and they're good, but but miss the vaults for my size 13's.
my vaults lasted 5 rides and were rusty inside.... better getting Nano X they last better and are so cheap...
Burgtecs Mk4, but the alloy ones from Blacks with 20 percent off using GET20.
Brings them down to a smidge over £71
