As title really, converting from old five to new tapered five but using existing 1 1/8th forks for the forseeable future, just want to know what pick and mix lower headset cup i need.

I'd suggest getting Hope's Tapered lower assembly, and using it with their step-down adaptor collar on your fork, this way allows you to just ditch the adaptor if you buy a tapered fork in the future. The only problem is that Hope are in the middle of a bearing supply issue at the moment, so they aren't available unless you can find a shop with stock.
Edit- we have stock of the direct fit step-down headsets, but they raise the front of the bike by about 10mm, and look fugly.
Ah, ok so is there a non hope temporary option?
Yep, any tapered lower should work with the Hope adaptor on your fork.
