Slippery, loamy, steep bastarding Scottish mud. What do you put on the back?
vigilante, draggy tho
DHR2. It's not spectacularily grippy but it's good, and it slides well when it lets go. (Butcher Control, to do the same job on the 26er but I don't like the big version so much)
HR2. doesnt work really thought but better than others
Hmmm..got a part worn Butcher Grid on the front just now, perhaps I should just put that on the back when the time comes then.

?? Dust here.
Planning ahead ๐
Probably for August the way it's looking just now!
Another shorty!
As above
Minion DHR2.
IME vigilantes are not the best in the mud. Couple of hans dampf are good though.
+1 for Minion DHR2. Great combo.
Beaver or dhr2 depending where on the xc/dh and gloop/mud scales you are aiming for.
Not too bad, down to bedrock: DHR2
Absolutely grim, muddy: Shorty
At the moment is High Roller 2 and Ardent conditions ๐

thats funny coz id say HDs are awful in mud, clagg up in no time
Yep, I love HD's on dry hard packed trails but they are pretty useless in mud.
Has anyone tried the Michelin Wild Mud and Wild Grip'R tyres?
When it's proper bad, I use the above Michelin combo. Wild Mud'R up front (Magi-X compound) and Wild Grip'R out back in Gum-X.
Draggy on the ups but incredible on the downs, with a really insane amount of grip.
Thanks Andy. I've got a mate with a Michelin account so they might be worth a look.
For mud I find the WTB warden hard to beat. Probably would stick that on the front though, so would put the shorty on the back. I also find the DHR2 is good on the back, although not when it's extremely muddy
