[Closed] What cycling shoes for a 7 year old?

He's been riding in hard based tennis type shoes. I'm guessing that most of the cycling children ride with trainers.

Is there any particular type that is better? He needs a fairly hard sole but with grip as he's learning to jump and, seems to slip off the pedals a lot on the landing.
There is also a bit of walking involved when going up hills, for which the tennis shoe hasn't given enough grip.

Thanks

my boys both ride in skate shoes. Our local Soccer world (or is it called sports world?!?!) has airwalks at around £12 a pair. My sons have been riding with these for about 1.5 yrs now. Great with some v8 or other flat pedals. . .
