I'm struggling to find a XT level chainset for a single ring and bash guard.
I have a XT double but that won't allow a 32T ring and a bash.

Middleburn?

I'm a firm believer in the right trousers for the right job.

A triple would work but is there a chainset designed for this?

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you but how about a Hope integrated chainring/bash?

That would work BUT I was looking at using a thick / thin chainring.

What XT cant you get a 32t on? You serpantly can get 32 and bash on the older HT2 ones.

Why would an XT triple not be correct?

The chainring would be in the middle position. The spider for the granny would be unused, but so what?

Yes a triple would work. I was just wondering if other chainsets existed that were designed for this scenario.

Like a ZEE / Saint single chainset but allowed a bash guard as well (and lighter)

I had a RaceFace Atlas chainset once that allowed you to remove the granny ring spider
