Moving house next week and will be storing two (maybe three soon) bikes in a brick shed. What is the best value/security option?

Almax or similiar with a ground anchor. Anything less can be cut with manual boltcutters, now fair enough not all bike thieves carry big croppers with them since most bikes are so badly secured they don't need them, but do you want to depend on that?

I got a £70 Oxford heavy-duty chain & lock online for £35 last week from some motorbike shop down south 🙂 Seems pretty sturdy.

Make brick shed as secure as possible to withstand attack as well as anything inside to prevent removal. You should be able to do quite a good job if it is solid.

At least one ground anchor and then the heaviest chain and disc lock you can afford. As you won't be carrying these you can afford to really go over the top. I'd personally go for two anchors or even three and three locks (if you do get three bikes). Then try to mix up the combinations of lock and bike so each bike has 2 locks on it and hopefully a different combo on each bike. Make things complicated. If they are determined they will get them but the longer you force the toerags to work the less likely they are to bother. They really want to be in and out so time is the key.

I don't need a ground anchor as can lock to the structure of the building. Just wondering what I need in terms of type of chain and lock and where to buy them cheaply.

What are you securing to them to the material of the building by? If it's less substantial than the chain and locks they will attack that instead. Don't underestimate the scrotes.

I use a Pragmasis 16mm chain, Torq ground anchor and chunky squire padlock. A 2m long chain is ample for 3 bikes. Try www.torc-anchors.com

How much are your bikes worth to you?

Pragmasis, that's the other name I was trying to remember, they're good too.

It will be croppable, all of Oxfords are sadly. Though it'll still be a good deterrant for less skilled/professional thieves, it'll stop kids etc.

The 10mm one? Won't even need big boltcroppers.

Bikes worth £2500 and £800, they're insured too. Understand what people are saying about the ground anchor but im only renting so not a great option.
