Did the uplift at Innerleithen today needed to get some bike time before the Alps seeing as I've hardly been out on the DH bike, it felt fast to me but there were plenty of much faster people on the hill today along with the guys that came along too, but a great day, nice weather, good banter and the food mans burgers, felt more confident on the bike by the end of the day which was my goal, one of mates had a silly stack and managed to twist his knee which was not so good.

Then tonight got some bike building to do so a good bike day all round.

Looking forward to a ride tomorrow too.

What you been up to today?

Finished building my mmmBop this morning and then took it out for a shakedown couple of hours in the Peak

Feels very quick up and down hill even with me on it. Not as uncomfortable as I was expecting either

Got a few things to fettle now

Lordswood, Southampton - singletrack, jumps and drops 😀
lots of signs up though either for something called the Big Bike Bash (?) or the FC saying they're indiscriminately destroying everything fun in the woods 😥 got there to find my fave jumps that have been there for years had been flattened 😐

Local loop round the Meon Valley with my dog. One of the few times I've taken her on a "proper" ride and she was brilliant. More knackered than me at the end though 🙂
So many walkers about today - luckily I only met them on the climbs or they would have ruined the ride. All very friendly and chatty though.

Dark Peak. I only intended riding for a couple of hours but I was having such a good time and I had not much else to do, it turned in to most of the day.
The first time I've been on Gird Lane, Robin Hoods Picking Rods and Lantern Pike as well.

Ramsbottom up to Cragg Quarry for a couple of laps with the gurn-meister himself papa lazarou. Pics of The Gurn in action will be posted in due course, unless he bribes me not to post them 🙂

Great place, bit windy up top though - hard work into a headwind

No riding for me today, went Cannock again yesterday though. And it was really good, apart from the rain! I'm finally getting the confidence to go faster on the descents. M8 is awesome.

I'm amazed I had time to get out but I managed a lovely dusty local ride up Rivington in the afternoon. All in all, it's been a very good day and I've decided to finish it off with some wine, which is going down very nicely indeed thanks..

grrr, was working at 3pm and just got home at 1:48am this morning. Managed to get a 91.6 mile road bike ride in though, 50 of that with about 16 or others just outside Glasgow.

Unbelievably windy today, really tough going even sitting behind a wheel. one of those winds when it was behind you you weren't really sure if it was or not, u'd think maybe a side wind but you certainly knew when it was a headwind 🙁

I finally finished my '92 Stumpjumper restoration yeserday. Had a quick ride on it and was really pleased with the steel/rigid/canti-brake machine.

Did two laps of the new Cannock trail, is absolutely awesome went the quickest yet and it took it's toll on my XT qr hubs, so i've bitten the bullet and gone with a hope 15mm hub and upgraded to set of 15mm DT Swiss XMC 130's to complement!…on a mission to get the wheel built for next weekend and round 2 at the dog/monkey trail 🙂

Did a 50 mile road loop from home up to Hayfield via Buxworth and Chinley. Wind was a bugger though.

Coffee and a Sandwich at Rosies in Hayfield was lovely.

Linked up a couple of routes to create a great 35KM loop directly from the house. Managed to time it with the only 2 hour dry spell throughout the entire day.

Out again tonight for an hours blast on the local fireroads.
