[Closed] What 26" hardtail frame for most modern geo?

Got a couple of 26ers in the shed that never get used and was thinking of cashing them in during the current used bike boom but realised I could be shooting myself in the foot by doing so.

We've always talked about having a couple of cheap hardtails to take on the back of the camper when we don't want to take the "good" bikes and of course the two 26ers would be a great source of donor parts. So, what 26" hardtail frames might I find that have a relatively modern geo please?

Think you'll struggle new! Not much 26 for a good few years now

Just get 650b 27.5 frames now 29 is the emporer's new clothes

Theres barely any difference (10mm overall wheel radius?) just run big tyres.

Then when you need new wheels get 27.5

PS wait for bootzipper 650b framesets to be £150 again at PX. Would be great campervan bikes with the biggest 26 tyres you can find.

Sorry, should have said. Looking for used, can't justify the spend on new.

Second hand prices are very high at the moment. I'd get those frames you have onto the market as soon as possible. Decent frames are making good money so I wouldn't expect to grab a bargain just now.

I think theres a stanton that has mentioned on here before. It took 26inch wheels with different dropouts as well as 27.5. Should imagine it would be very good. I expect it to have a tapered headtube though. not sure if you can get a converter for that.

I have a last of the line 26 chameleon I'd let go for not much. I believe these were setup with 27.5 the following year - same frame. Medium. I'm just over 5-10 and it fitted perfectly ( slightly different sizing in these for some reason. Older and newer a medium would be too small for me )

@Del cheers for the offer but I'm after a large and xl maybe L depending on geo.
Edit: consider that a stealth wanted ad.

@nickjb yes I'm onto it this afternoon. I'm a bit sentimental about one of them so have been hanging back a bit but should let it go really.

Cheers for the suggestions all! Are there many 650b frames around that will take an old school QR rear wheel or is there some kind of adaptor available?

Got a large On One Carbon 456 in the classifieds, might split if people are interested, or swap for a gravel

On-One 456 Summer Season? Slack and as a result quite long even though they must be easily 10+ years old. Loved my old one...

The old BFe was a fine bike, regardless of wheel size. I ran mine with a 150mm fork which slacked off the head angle to something relatively modern. That meant that the BB was a little higher than I was used to, but there are as many advantages as disadvantages to that (it wasn’t very high).

Maybe a brand x frame from chainreaction would work

2018/2019 dartmoor hornet is a 27.5" bike but I run 26" in mine, 65 head angle, 450mm reach. was <£250 new, so I can't imagine they're much second hand. This years is even slacker.

at <400mm reach for an 18" frame, and a 67 head angle, and a 10mm bb drop its not any of those things
