Thinking the Pentlands will be soggy.

Anyone fancy a Glentress trip?

Can't offer a lift down unless coming from Livingston but can take back to Edinburgh area if anyone needs.

Thinking 6.30 in the Peel car park, 7pm in the Buzzards for anyone (probably me) who doesn't quite make 6.30.

I fear i will be painting the bathroom. Guests this weekend and my time to make it finished is running out.

Would be up for either, I'd favour the Pentlands but would be willing to leave them alone for a week in the hope they're a bit drier by next week.

Can anyone offer a lift from Edinburgh?

Tbc, get the guests to help paint, innit.

Will hopefully make it. Will take my bike to work anyway in anticipation. 13thfm, I can offer a lift as long as nothing at work comes up last minute.

Pentlands wet right now?

Yep. I'm in. Orangina is watching the Wendyball, bless her..

I have a van, can offer a lift to 4 others and their bikes.

Based in Musselburgh, though we need to co-ordinate something.

Paul, great stuff, where do you work, should I meet you there?

Pentlands weren't mega wet on Saturday, sort of typical 'choose your route carefully' type wet.

Will see if any of the Eddy Bike Co-op crowd pipe up, might suite them better to ride in town.

I'm up for either whatever the concensus is just figured with the amount of rain on Saturday night it'd be a washout.

Will take my bike into work in the van then can decide tomorrow. Can fit a few in the van coming back into town if it makes the trip home easier too if it's a GT trip.

PS painting the bathroom is the worst excuse ever for not going out on the bike!

13thfm, I'm at murrayfield. Can meet you at the ice rink or the skate park?

As it stands, I can hardly do any hills and am very upset. Something to do with DMR parts being made of cotton, or my legs being made of steel.

Either way, if it's the Pentlands ill toddle up and keep as much pace as possible. If i'm shite, i'm in the Hailes so can just fob off.

If I discover a magic botch job, then hills are in!

Just back from the Pentlands. Maidens, Castlelaw, Puke Hill, Clubbiedean. Wasn't too bad actually. Any slipping and sliding was mostly down to me not being used to riding knobblies less than 3" wide ๐Ÿ™‚

For what it's worth I had a push-up-ride down Puke & Capelaw today which was sweet for me at least.

Steve, sorry to sort of de-rail your intentions, you happy to visit the Pentlands? I can promise a tasty new descent which I reckon most of you won't have ridden, and shouldn't suffer too much from the wet.

Fine with me Iain. Pentlands are a lot easier time wise and save my fuel so if they're dry enough to ride I'm in!

6.30 @ cargo and 7 @ bonaly shop then, I'll probably wait halfway along the canal.

New descent eh? Looking forward to that!

That turned out pretty decent, just a shame I couldn't take on the pub-fuel at the end... A couple of images for your interest (except I forgot to switch to 'sport' for the action shots, D'oh!)

Gunning for the nights red-spotted jersey -

Worth all that climbing in the end -

Hoping conditions can be like that the next time ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry al, it's a secret ๐Ÿ˜‰

Great ride tonight, just a shame my climbing legs were even worse than usual! Don't think I'd been down any of the descents we did tonight which is always nice, all linked together nicely too.

Great ride, really enjoyed that alternative ending, never occured to me to link Cox's with White Hill that way, didn't seem like much extra effort either!
