Mate and I had a few days off in the bike van, Dragons Tail @ Coed y Brenin yesterday and finishing with a stop over in the Betws y coed car park before a quick blast round the Marin trail. Heavy cold in my lungs was not a good sign first thing, but didnt stop us hitting the trail before 8:00.

Early Start (and crappy old olympus out of focus it was too dark):

crappy old olympus wouldn't fire quickly either as I was trying to get a shot of a Robin on a waymark post, by the time the thing worked, the bird had landed on my wheel, and happily sat there for a minute while I took some snaps. And before anyone says it, it wasn't because I was riding so slowly that he thought he could take a chance! ๐Ÿ™‚

very nice out though - clear and dry (in the air at least) all the way round:

But a big off on the rock and rolls on Ride Fast and Ride Free did for mates Ellsworth front triangle ๐Ÿ™

We reckon it was his shin that did that while he was pile driving into the ground with his head. Fortunately no serious injuries, just a new lid and frame to sort out.

We did get a second opinion on the frame too when we got back to the van:

The Gwydyr forest, probably the friendliest Robins in Wales ๐Ÿ˜‰

The robins at Brechfa are virtually tame!

Glad to hear no real damage after the crash! Nice landscape pic, too!

Here's a Robin from last weekend's ride at Coed-y-Brenin. He was at my sandwich while I was eating it!

TBH I think my 'phone would take a better pic than my old olympus mu. Hence the thread the other day of me looking for a new compact. I think I managed one descent shot out of 12 taken with the compact today. Time for a new one. This worker is more than happy blaming his tools. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cracking pics Stoner, particularly the 1000yd stare into the sunrise. In the spirit of things, if a little surreal, here's a pic of a Robin, doing a Robin impression at Minch Moor, Innerleithen...

very "Robin-like" there, Robin.
Nice pic wheelz. Was that taken with a compact camera or SLR?

It was taken with a Canon G9 compact. The Robin was literally about 20cm from where I was sat, right on the edge of the table.
