On Sunday evening Craig5, bright spark and I done a bivi on a hill in Kentmere and then went up and over Harter Fell. It was our first trip out, and we had a blast!

Still need to get up and ride Nan Bield, live in Kendal and still haven't bothered with it.. On the to-do list. 🙂
Be careful out there you may end up camping with postierich 😯 although I'm convinced he only camps in the Eagle and Child's beer garden...

Well spotted postie, we did the standard Kentmere loop on Sunday night with kit, camped out between 3 rivers and Kentmere hall descents, and rode down to the car parked in Kentmere in the morning. Then we ditched the kit and rode the Harter fell Nan Bield loop unladen. We wanted to test out our kit setups without going completely wild, so thought the Kentmere loop would be a good start. HP wood descent was brilliant, and the extra traction for off road climbs was great. Started in the evening though so unable to get some pics of the fully laden bikes in good light.
Some great looking pics there, thanks for posting. So one if you had a tent and the other a bivvie? Who came out the best?

Well, it was a mild, dry night, so I guess neither were really put through their paces. Brightspark spent a lot more money on his fancy terranova tent though, than we did on our tarp and bivi bags, so I would expect him to be comfier in the long run.
