I think BRitish Cycling exploded the myth about waxing "down there" round about 2016, made all the papers. Basically it causes more problems than it solves.
Personally, like shaving my legs, I don't do it for cycling reasons.

I only go clean shaven for those parties and one to ones where it's expected and well, does heighten the sensations shall we say. Nothing worse than getting pubes trapped in metalwork or rubber for bringing a tear to your eye even if that's predominantly the point of the exercise.
I do like an ingrowing hair for the satisfaction of removal. But not down there. The big puss balls need to be popped without eyes-on, which can be satisfying with the warm "pfffud".
