Is anyone else watching the new eliminator format as well? Course isn't quite as good as last time, but still some great fast and close racing

Gotta wonder if it would've been faster on something like a *shudders* CX bike?

*what happens when roadies design MTB courses*

A shame, because the Houfallize course seemed bang on!

I get why they wouldn't want to race it on single track, but even just some fire road would have been better than that.

To Quote my 6 year old
" i dont call that a professional race do you?
I could do all the things they just did"

Could you (/your 6 year old) do them as quick though? I could ride every road the Tour covers, doesn't make me Alberto Contador!

Didn't see it, don't doubt it was crap, but the point isn't solely to have a track that'll make all the riders fall off! Bit of a shame though, the early season courses (XC at least) have been tending towards more 'interesting'!

Just watching it now.
lol @ the last corner move in the womens, eliminated her opponent alright!! ๐Ÿ˜€

<EDIT> oops, that's last months race, from your comments above can this months track possibly be less challenging?

My god that's ****. The commentary team sounded like they might just wander off before it was finished...

picture a race from the bottom GT car park, up to the Peel centre one, then back again - but without the elevation ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lopes would have a pretty unfair advantage ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ps. OMG, WTF? really? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I wonder if the format is inherently uninteresting to watch - it's all about short frantic races on XC bikes. It basically is 4x without the jumps and that. Sure it's full on to compete, can't see it being a particularly good spectator sport though!

Had forgotten this was on - just watched a bit of the last round, my word that course was awful, commentators sounded like they were apologising for it, La bresse looks better

Really enjoyed that but what a nasty crash Tracy Moseley had! I hope she's ok, she looked pretty dazed ๐Ÿ™

The opening VT shows riders managing to fall off going uphill. I don't understand.

Concrete and metal barriers, no thanks. I preferred the Houffalize course, but I suppose that they have to change the type of course from time to time, reckon there's a few sore people tonight. Comments like 'sweating like a whore in a church' and something like 'looking like a 70's porn star with that moustache'. Where does he get them from . lol

By the way, anyone know what the background music was, when they were showing the replay?

Sail by AWOLNATION

I first heard it on the insane "grinding the crack" wingsuit video and I think you're going to get sick of hearing it on sports replays this summer.

It's by Red Bull music so they like to use it. A lot. Less serious take on it:

That T-Mo crash was nasty. Though I did think the other girl went down harder.
