What's the best way of shipping it over? It's a private sale so should they take it to their local bike shop and get them to send it to mine in the UK?
As the bike is second hand (8 years old) but in new condition - how much VAT and duty will I need to pay. Is it cheaper just to fly over and get myself?
As you might have gathered I've not done this before!!
Many thanks for any helpful advice.
Paul

See no reason why they can't send it couriered, no reason to add the bike shops expense ontop.
I think the duty is 4.5% on bike parts, then vat is calculated on the value + duty. Then if your courier uses the UK post service here to make final delivery, they charge you a fee too!
