What's it recorded on as a matter of interest? My gopro is much steadier than that....

not enough words.

The riding was good and the scenery epic but it was let down by the shaky helmet cam, as has been said before i got a reet headache on them bits n had to skip through some. The off helmet shots are good, the "end credits" sequence was good cos i didnt get eye ache off it. Trying to gi some good points as well as bad but the shaky cam really lets it down. If you've got anymore stable footage try another edit with that, n leave out the speeded up travelling at the beginning, no one cares how you got there, just what you do there.
Good effort though, looks like you had a lot of fun. Thinking of going next summer if all goes to plan.

shaky POV-cam showing mates riding backed by music that isn't yours is not doing it for me - sorry.

More than 3 words;

as a record of your trip for those that did it I'm sure it's fine. For those not there it's too long and the image quality too poor for anyone to want to sit through the whole thing - you'll maybe get people to sit through 3 minutes of it but no more.

3 words;

way too long.

Thanks for the responses good and bad.

It was made for the guys on the trip as a momento, so like most of you said its to long and I can understand this.

It was shot on a contour, pretty unimpressed with the resulting shakey footage but tried to make the best of what stuff i got.

Most importantly i had fun making and editing it and with the feed back recieved hopefully the next attempt will be more pleasing!!

At least i hope some of you enjoyed wasting a bit of your monday watching it!

Hey I quite enjoyed it! Yeah, not the best quality and a tad long but it's got potential!

Wrong Aspect Ratio

Really bugged me for some reason. It's clear your source material is in widescreen and so is the video but when you've made it you've made a mistake so the source material has been squashed. Also +1 for wobbly cam.

Apart from the aspect ratio problem (perhaps your local copy doesn't suffer from this), then if someone had filmed and edited this from my holiday I'd be chuffed to watch it.

But as a film for wider consumption, then I can't see it appearing on midweek mini movies.

Way too long.

Wrong aspect ratio.

Poor quality video.

Music isn't great.

As a memento of a holiday it's fine though - better to have that than nothing. ๐Ÿ™‚

It was shot on a contour, pretty unimpressed with the resulting shakey footage but tried to make the best of what stuff i got.

Is it HD - it should be capable of much better quality video. I don't know if you've exported it in a very compressed format. Also, the shakiness is purely down to how well the mounting etc is set up.

So after downloading a newer version of premier pro and exporting again, hopefully the aspect ratio should be sorted and quality improved as both these were fine on my computer but a problem once up loaded. Plus i might have learnt a bit more about export settings for video editing.

Just gotta wait a while for youtube upload now.

Cloverfield on bikes.

Reminds me of Alan Stoke's Strange Beautiful Life videos. But with bikes, bobbins music and Mr Shakeycam!

Really nice video

Content is really good, yeah the aspect ratio is wrong and rendering it in 1080p would be nice but also some of the camera work was questionable. Must be something to do with age or something because i watched it fine without getting a headaches or feeling sick!

OK

The blunt version so apologies (also some of my films could be described as dull repetitive and boring so I've tried to take some of the points on board)
I nearly clicked away when I say 13 mins. Editing is about getting the stuff across in the right amount of time. One driving shot, one We arrived sho, 1 lift MAX!! I got up to 7-8 mins on a couple of mine and felt they were mightily self indulgent - ended up splitting into shorter vids for each day (very different days)
If after 2 mins there are no bikes there is a problem.
The long shot of the guys in the dust was ok apart from the shakey camera work. Try a bar mount or something that you get to sit still.
Also back to point 1 far too much repetitive stuff
Too much road and fireroad - editing in some nice scenery pics would be better.
USE TRANSITIONS if your in premiere then have a look at just a dip to black or cross fade - takes out the harsh "Click"
The bit with the people could have been subtitled - "You had to be there" same with the firecrackers.
Watch the film through with the different music, probably the toughest bit trying to get something that reflects what is going on rather than songs you like.
Aim for 3 mins settle for 4 dont use the same shot twice - use insets/split screen if you want to show 2 people doing the same thing.

However the last 3 mins had the makings of a nice 2 min film ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm guessing you didn't have a guide? Was waiting for some footage of some more of the good trails.

Apart from that if your mates are happy then well done - still not enough boobies though.

fair play for having a go!!

Its 100% better than what I could string together/be bothered with doing!

At least you got out for some fantastic riding too!

Seems like a good excuse to have another go next year!
