Trying to find out more about the Cannock Chase lines. Going there on the 26th for some fun. Have searched STW but havn't really found the info i'm looking for. Any advice about routes would be most welcome. I can be there most of the day but would like to do the most advised ones first. Any help would be fab. Thanks folks.
This is the map i'm staring at now (with excitment)

what do you want to know exactly?

Errrrr.
we usually turn up & hit the top section of the red first a few times to warm up, stopping at the big berm so we don't have to do the full push up. then ride the whole lot. there's a nice kicker at the top of the black too to have a play on. then will probably head down into the woods on the red and play on drop-berm-flyoff at the bottom of the black. the ridge line gets a fair amount of attention - it's fast and has a good few variations on lines and that and a big sender halfway down. there's a mini pump-track/dirt jumps area just off the main push-up, we spend a bit of time in there - good crack if that's your thing. probs move over to balboa and hit that a few times, session the ladder drop/berms/kicker section. then do some tree runs down at the bottom (fun in the wet...rooty). head back to pump-track/DJ's. bit more on the bottom of the black. and a run or two on the red.
HTH
How is Walleater these days?!
Walleaters overgrown, its has huck style Candian wannabe gaps, designed by and named after an illegal immigrant found sleeping rough in a tent made of bracken. We think he was a bit retarded.
Black is good fun with some small drops and 2 bigger ones at the end which you can play on repeatedly until something breaks.
Red is pebble city, its fast and loose. CDL breaks off the red after the first drop, CDL is fastish and easyish but one of my faves.
Snakes & ladders breaks off the red,it has a medium ladder drop. It needs more things built on it.
Richies pump track is good fun and as its pumpy jumpy bermy totally different style of trail to the others. No skidding.
Ridgeline is flat out blast, one longish jump then a variety of options and corners to pick from. From Ridgeline there are a few offshoots to the left, these are more rooty carving through the trees over roots type trails, nice.
Wonderland is loose then fast then twitchy tree stuff, another favourite.
Balboa breaks off wonderland, its huck central.
Newline is flowy then gets a bit tech and has some decent gaps to clear. New line gaps are a bit tired, they need fixerizing.
Bad news is that the FC are going to be doing substantial work to the area felling trees, so expect full trail closures and temporarily wrecked trails.
LOL - sounds like people have been busy over there.
