We've got next weekend to make into a trails weekender.
Originally thought about Glentress but its TweedLove apparently, so probably rammed right? I know nothing about TL.
On that basis, a Welsh trail centre as a base is needed.
Its been absolute years since I've been and then it was with the kids. I can't remember which one is which and i hear they've all changed quite a lot, some not for the good.

So whats the highest recommended centre for gnarly fun trails and/or the most options nearby?
Not BPW/OGL, dont want uplifts.

Where are you coming from? I live in South Wales but often have a weekend away at Coed y Brenin, a wonderful place. Stayed at the Cross Foxes Hotel most recently, a short drive to CyB and Dyfi. A bit further to Gwydir, Penmachno or in the opposite direction Nant Yr Arian.

From Derby, to anywhere in wales is fine.
Dyfi - I've been told there's excellent trails from near the Dyfi Adventure campsite. Are these findable?

Same question for me. I might take October half term off work and I'm looking to explore Wales a bit. I've only ever been to Revs and BPW.

Coming from Sheffield so looking for stuff up north mostly.

I'd probably base myself in Dolgellau, The Ship Inn in the centre is good, or Heulwen Guest house if you want a bit of seclusion (my personal favourite place to stay, only 5 mins drive from the centre, but so peaceful). From there you have a choice of all the Coed y brenin trails within 10 mins, Clymach or Nant y arian(though some good sections were closed last time I checked) in one direction, Gwyddir and Penmachno in the other, and Llandegla (i'd avoid on weekends though, rammed)

I seem to remember that the campsite owners had a hand in building the local trails.

coatesy's suggestion of Dolgellau is what I would do as I do it on a regular basis most years. Lots of options within an hour's drive that offer different things. Have done uplift weekends (Antur, Revs) and trail centre tours.

Liking the look of the Dyfi forest trails. Bit of an adventure to go find some new stuff.

I assume its the big mass of Trailforks trails just NE of the Dyfi bike park trails?
And close to CyB. How is CyB these days?
