I would be grateful if you could click on the LINK and vote for my mate Jon Allan Butterworth for the British Cycling Ride of the Year.

Danny Hart is running away with it and rightly so but if you haven't voted yet it would be great if you could vote for Jon.

Jon lost his arm in a rocket attack in Basra whilst serving with the RAF. From starting cycling 2 years ago he is now on the British Para-cycling squad and holds numerous national and world records. He is being tipped to be going to the 2012 Paralympics and hopes to get gold there.

All votes would be welcome. I think it would be quite an acheivement to get him up to 3rd spot ahead of some able bodied athletes.

Thanks, Andy

The site seems to record your IP address when you vote. Of course, anyone wanting to unfairly sway the results could keep voting on their mobile as they move around the country today.....

Thanks again everyone. As Justride has said Jon is now 3rd. Voting closes today at 5pm so fingers crossed. I can't believe he's gone from 7th yesterday to 3rd today. Wonderful effort and it great to raise the profile of Para-Cycling.

Druidh - I just tested your theory for scientific purposes. It seems that if you turn the wifi off on your phone and just connect via 3g it lets you vote again. I wouldn't encourage anyone to do this though ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Andy - that would also work. On WiFi, it'll have your routers IP address, on 3G, it'll be Vodafone/O2/whoevers. Turning 3G off and back on again later, you might find that the IP address you had before has been issued to someone else.

Currently 1% ahead....

Congrats to Jon. Even though the voting is closed I followed the link to the BC website. If you click on the link to Danny Hart's page you can watch his winning run at the worlds. I was quite surprised it is the Freecaster footage with Rob Warner commentating and that right at the end it includes the quote "how can he sit down with balls that big". It just amused me that the footage of the BC run of the year on the BC website finishes in that manner. That is all.
