Considering a packaged bike holiday in Vietnam for my wife's birthday present in December this year. Aim to be going in Jan 2011....She's not a mb'er and I'm not going for any kind of mountain bike experience but I have heard with the right company and backup it's probably the best way to see and absorb the country.

Its a fantastic country, can get very hot and humid. Traffic is mental so she might be overwhelmed by it.
People super cool and very friendly. Some crime but I didn't see any.
I think that this kind of gift giving is known as "boomeranging"!
We looked at one with the either exodus or the adventure company (I can't remember) - looked good. I imagine we'll go at some point towards the end of the year.
