I am using a single pannier, what side should I mount it on?
I know it doesn't matter, but I have a mild (severe) form of OCD that means everything has to be just right.
What do you reckon? Answers and reasons below 🙂

Don't the satchel straps catching in your turn ups drive you mad?
Mine is as the photo. The reason being to reduce wetness from passing traffic.
I don't know if this works or not.

Agreed. A gentleman of taste and sensibility should always dress to the left. You will also find it easier to get crap out of the pannier if you don't have to lean over your bike.

Well mine is on the right as it's covered in reflective stuff so I have that where it is most visible to the traffic. I doubt whether you want to cover your leather satchel in hi vis stickers though...
On the right, so you get more space from passing cars.
I think my logic was that on the left it meant my right reflective ankle strap would not be obscured.
I have mine on the right, with a flashing light on it, to make cars take a wide berth....hopefully.
Well this has been no help at all.
Whilst I agree on dressing to the left, I tend to lean my bike against the wall on the left, so the pannier gets in the way.
Oily chain muck is not an issue as it is SS and has a chain guard (so I don't get my turn ups caught 😉 ) and on the right will make the bike seem wider to cars. Even if it doesn't have a light/reflectives on it.
Trivial things become such a big decision when unemployed....
