Last night I arrived in Vancouver to stay with family for a couple of weeks....and luckily I had the presence of mind to pack a bike.

I've ridden here before but wondered if anyone fancied meeting up for a ride at some point. I'm open to suggestions. Also, thinking of entering the Fiver on Fromme next week, if anyone's going?

I'm not in Vancouver, rather Whistler. If you get a day and make it up here I'd be happy to show you around the valley trails.

Wednesday night social ride in squamish tonight. It'll cost you 20 for a 1day membership plus 5 for the afterparty.

Sponsored by a Mexican diner and a Whistler pub so I assume plenty of food and beer at the apres!

Damn, saw that too late. Ended up nipping over to Fromme this evening to get my eye in a bit. It's pretty damn dry here, eh?!

Thanks for the offer NoBeer but I doubt I'll manage to make it up there. Having a few days over on the island which I need to slot in somewhere too, though probably won't take the bike.

Dry... it sure is. I rode Lord of the squirrels yesterday...boot pack through 20m of snow up at 1800m and end up standing in a dry pile of dust on the other side.. it's super dry.

I did find a single muddy pile on the way up which was great as I ended up ankles deep

If you’ve never ridden in Whistler, make sure you go there at least once - it’s not too far at all.

The North Shore stuff is pretty intense and a bit of an acquired taste. It’s slow and tech in lots of places - I loved it but if you like going flat out everywhere it might not be for you. It’s also pretty hard so you can get in over your head on some trails.

Theyre probably the two most fun places I’ve ridden, though. Enjoy!
