so looking to buy some new lights - my dinottes although great lights are a bit dog tired and the missus needs lights for relentless so i want to buy a maxx D and joystick combo

now - i wore my dinottes Li Ion battery out after 2 years and bought 2 replacements for 50 quid as they are made up of off the shelve cells

Are exposures the same ? i assume use will still be around when i need spares tbh but im not sure id want them if they use propriatory batterys (which i severely doubt they will but want to check)

My Maxx and Joystick are still going strong (bought Winter 2007), I thought they needed to be sent back for battery replacement due to the sealing but not sure.

My Mk1 joystick uses a proprietary battery - it was playing up this year so spoke to the USE guys at SITS and they said to phone them up during the week - if they can't fix the problem then they have some good offers on new stuff. Battery suddenly started to work !!! so didn't follow it up but I've heard they are good with support. But, that's one of the reasons I went with Lumi LED's as my main light - easily replacable battery.

how often do you use yours fuzzy wuzzy ?

My dinottes did 5 nights a week 2-3 hours each night on and off road through the winter. then most friday nights they were used for varying periods during the spring and autumn and during the summer they were used at 24 hour events ...

that = lots of charging and lots of discharging.

Hence im not too keen on propriotory systems 🙁 i have emailed them anyway see what they say

My joystick is 2nd hand and about 2-3 years old, and has seen 2-3 hours of night riding twice a week for that whole time (almost). Still perfect.

I heard somewhere that exposure will even replace batteries if they do stop working, but no ones ever had to have it done. But don't quote me on that.

I have had to send my joystick back twice, as it wouldn't turn on. No idea if it was the battery or what but both times fixed and sent back no problems.
