i have a video on facebook but want to upload it to another site.
i tried youtube,vimeo and pinkbike but it wont upload.

What format is the file in? Vimeo, YouTube etc. like certain file formats such as h264 more than others.
You might be better off uploading the original edit of the video (which was used to add it to Facebook) to keep as much quality as you can, rather than using the Facebook vid as the source and uploading that somewhere else at the risk of losing more quality.

Hmm, is the m4v file an iTunes video file? A quick Google search suggests that's what many m4v files are.
What other formats, if any, do you have the video available in? I think YouTube and Vimeo prefer .mp4 files (although similar to m4v) which may be where the problem lies.
Can you right click and rename the file to .mp4? That may help....
