Got a 29er that came as standard with 26/36 front rings, but looking to add either a third ring or fit bigger rings, but, the front mech mount isn't hight enough to go larger, what can I do?

Direct mount front mech's normally have a elongated slot for the fixing bolt, allowing a certain amount of vertical adjustment. I have a 3ring set up on a bike primarily designed for a double and it works lovely.

Maybe direct triple front mech or perhaps an E-type BB fitting one?
