A kit like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Standard-to-Boost-Thru-Axle-Hub-Adapters-Conversion-Kit-15mm-Front-or-12mm-Rear/152904291407?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=452663388099&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Equal-sized spacers either side of the hubs, with a spacer for the disc mount.

I appreciate it's not as good a solution as e.g. the 'proper' adaptors you get for Hope hubs, etc (I already use the Hope 148 adaptors on a Pro4 with the wheel re-dished).

I'm looking at using the above to share a 100x15 / 142x15 Shimano-hubbed wheelset between 2 bikes as a spare/mud setup. One bike is Boosted front and back, other bike is 100x15/142x12. With me wanting to share them back and forth, the above kit appeals as it avoids the need for re-dishing.

Will I die? Are they too much of a faff in use?

Cheers.

How do you avoid redishing the rear? Will the rear mech be able to reach 5mm further onboard with the spacers in place?

@horatio....

You don't redish the wheel with these kits as it remains in the centre.

It's 3mm not 5mm and yes the rear mech will be fine.  Front is +5mm each side, rear is +3mm each side.

Is your chainset on boost chainline or normal chainline?  If it's on boost chainline (i.e. 3mm outboard) then having the rear on normal chainline is probably going to give fairly rubbish shifting on the lower gears.  "Proper" chainline (i.e. both boost or both normal) already puts the chainrings quite far out relative to the cassette, and shifting the front chainline in will generally improve shifting (e.g. non boost front with boost rear).  I wouldn't want to go the other way.

I've got this type of kit on my Aeris 120 with a 12x142 rear wheel. Works fine so far, casette is 3mm inboard of where it should be but 11 spd mech seems to cover it fine. Non boost 2x SLX cranks with 32T chainring in outer position, which I may space in a little bit so long as it clears chainstay.

Wolftooth (I think) have a table with different non boost cranks and how near they are to boost chainline somehwere........

Thanks folks.

Was all set to order but thankfully remembered before I did that my Shimano wheels are centrelock. Won’t work with those adaptors unless I also get centrelock-to-6-bolt adaptors. Not worth the hassle.
