My local youth federation (in San Sebastián) are looking for foreign club/s to set up an exchange program with. I think it's as much about language/culture exchange as racing. I'm a bit out of touch with the UK scene... any ideas who to talk to?

That looks ideal aP, would be happy for my lad to go there (bit soon at 9mths ), imagine closed circuits are peace of mind for parents..

Outside London there's a few children's clubs that I know of - Maindy Flyers, Palmer Park, there's bound to be one at the new A2 circuit, almost certainly elsewhere too. Try Slipstreamers - I'd also suggest contact BC in Manchester as they will have a record of clubs around the country.

Little bump for this thread as I got some more info from the dudes at the federation.

They've got 16-18yo's in mind for this, kids who have been racing here and who want (need?) to improve their English level as well as do some racing in the UK. They also want to give riders from across Europe the opportunity to do some racing in the Basque Country. We get quite a lot of foreign riders come over to do a season or two (there is a very good women's team) but they tend to be espoirs who have signed for the team; this would be more casual.

They'll start writing to a few clubs starting with the ones above - anyone reading this think their club might be interested?

Ta!

Both of these have large youth sections:

Recommend contacting Stewart Harvey at Marsh Tracks Race Team in North Wales. See here:

From a cultural / language perspective, there are clear links between Wales and the Basque Country - both autonomous regions with their own unique language.
