The Wolf Ridge has a history in that sense, has to be said. But that [s]swing[/s] thing-arm beats even the old munters with a special knd of crikey.
Oh man, I thought it was going to be WAY uglier. It's not that bad! Disappointing ๐
the top shock mount looks like an after thought ๐
Where's the actual bottom bracket on the Wolf Ridge ๐ My lordy thats a grim looking machine.
(Whyte PRSTN beats the paper clip bike by a looooong way)
Where's the actual bottom bracket on the Wolf Ridge
Christ, the more you look, the wronger it is...
This made me smile when I saw it, it's a premium priced bike that looks as though it's been designed by a war-traumatised child.
That seat angle...
On the upside, they may have eliminated chainsuck. Just a shame 1x got there first.
That orange/red fade paintwork against the grey is rather nice, that would look great on another bike. I bet the cheaper versions without that colour scheme look worse.
I think Marin have cleverly found a new niche:
"Wanna ride with all your e-bike mates, but worried your pedal only bike won't be as gopping as theirs? Take a deep breath and squint at the new Wolf Ridge." ๐
RM.
Marin seem to be aiming for the premium end of the market with their pricing structure, which is as eye-watering as the new WR frame.
I wish them all the luck in the world with that.
It must be a properly fat swing arm bearing in mind those are Fox 36's on the front. On first look the forks looked so spindly I assumed they were low end Rockshox 30's or something.
Such an unattractive bike.

Fill your boots. Oh, and wave goodbye to any productivity today
Not only does it look ugly as sin....
From the website....
The Wolf Ridge was not designed, and is not equipped, for downhill racing or bike park use.
Yet it comes with Fox 36 forks and an X2 DH shock ?
Who is going to buy this bike?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Acting on Newtonโs Third Law that โfor every actionthere is an equal and opposite reaction,โ this system provides unparalleled pedaling efficiency and bump compliance
First bike ever to account for 17th Century Newtonian physics ๐
It could very well be the best riding full suspension bike ever made, but who'd buy a bike that minging? Form follows function, only goes so far!
"Wanna ride with all your e-bike mates, but worried your pedal only bike won't be as gopping as theirs?"
Oh yes! this made I ๐ !
Also, it has a very useful built in mudguard that will prevent splattage on your... erm, seat tube... sorted.
The new Marin/Polygon design looks like a dog trying to have a shit.
Looks like i'm going to have to try harder with my Frankenbikes.... ๐
not as bad as the new nomad
It's pretty fascinating in design but yes it's fugly. The linkages look like an afterthought, everything else is massive and curvy and then there's meccano stuck to the side
I'd like a go on it... Most times when people talk about big bikes that pedal well I just think, the bike doesn't know if you're pedalling up a fire road or down through a rock garden. My trailfox was all about this- pedalled great but if you pedalled it in the rough the suspension acted up. I'd rather have a climb switch.

Who is going to buy this bike?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
It's a big enduro bike, they're just kind of stating the obvious there- "this is not a dh bike". Remember they'll be talking US/canadian bike parts not Bike Park Wales. I'll take my #enduro bike dh racing but I know perfectly well it's not designed for it.
I bet there's been some sound math behind that BB.
Wow.
It's something I'd really like to try though same as the polygon version the initial write ups are good.
But what else would you expect from marin, they have an ugly forrest to throw frames around in.
Honest review of the Polygon on PB today...

Apparently a super-efficient winch-and-plummet machine, sounds like a modern, much worse-looking version of my coil-sprung 2012 Patriot.
