Might be a pain for the teams, but having Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatica on concurrently is ace. Particularly today - hilltop finish above Mende then flick to Eurosport 2 for last 20k of a probable sprint finish stage in Indicatore.

Ace stuff!

Just listening to the T-A commentary at work - tuned in to late for P-N. So don't tell me what happened!

Spoiler altert might be wise in the thread title. Don't want to upset anyone who's recording or planning on watching later.

Mulletus Maximus,

You star. That is the first site that the gateway at work allows me to access, thought I would be in a cycling black hole this summer, TVM ๐Ÿ˜€

They're always concurrent aren't they? I should think the teams are fairly happy - the big ones have enough to send people to both, the smaller ones just pick the one they like best. Neither is a big enough race to get upset over missing the other.

Spoilers indeed...never quite sure why anyone who doesn't want to know something about cycling would go to a website dedicated to cycling...let alone *anywhere* on the greatest source of information known to man. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Jens Voight doesn't get in a break. He just puts the hammer down until there's only two people left in the peloton. ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, Paris-Nice goes to a race of truth up a mountain. I know what I'm doing tomorrow afternoon. Watching men bury themselves in a tunnel of hurt. Oh yeah!

Paris-nice is on British Eurosport 2 at 1300; Wiggins is off at 1325 for what should be about a 20 min run.

then T-A immediately after that.

Nah,

I think he's just been focussing on his time trialling. It helped him win the dauphine last year, he is having a shot at the olympic one and there is something like 100k of time trialling in the tour. I don't think he can cause damage in the mountains but he can certainly hold his own with the big GC names. Where he excels and always has is in the race of truth and he can knock lumps out of other riders.

A really good effort from Wiggins; he won it in the two time trials - and maybe a bit of luck in getting in the right break on stage 2 when the peleton was broken up by crosswinds. That, and a great effort from Team Sky the rest of the week to keep him in good condition and manage the race to keep Wiggins in yellow and ensure no-one could challenge him on the mountainous stages. Been a great race to watch unfold over the week and a bit.

All eyes to Italy now...

Isn't it strange how some riders are more lucky than others.

Anyone else reckon they should ban powermeters and HRMs on TT's? For me it takes some of the 'skill' away in being able to judge your pace and removes some of the drama of people overdoing things and blowing up spectacularly.

Well now I think we've got the best TTer in the world, I say leave them in ๐Ÿ™‚
But that's why a lot of these rules get made - it's because the large teams who've invested millions want predictability.

As a neutral fan, I like a bit of unpredictability too. I haven't seen a breakaway stay out that wasn't just 'allowed' this year, and that's without race radios on many occasions too.

leggyblonde - I was trying to say there were two sides. I.e. as a biased fan at the moment, I like predictability (i.e. don't crash Wiggo!). But as a neutral I quite like seeing underdogs come to the fore, etc.

The one who was 1:37 back ๐Ÿ™‚
I'm fully expecting Tony Martin to be back at full strength soon (something was wrong at Paris Nice), but Wiggo is looking very very good.

He is asking a lot of himself this year though. God knows if he can do it, but it will be fun to watch!
