Afternoon all,
I've had a few months off from Quantock riding and am planning to head up next month. Could someone please tell me what the forestry work situation is like around the downhill area's at Triscombe? Are the trails and fireroads ruined? I'm not a downhiller but one of the rides I am planning goes through that part of the hills. Can't wait to get back up there.

OK, this was 2 weeks ago.
Lift bike over the gate at Triscombe car park, as it was locked witha chain. Some liability mitigation thing I guess.
Start contouring around the top of Cockercombe, after a couple of hundred yards there a trail on the left that I have always used to access the lower part of the main DH stuff. There was a sign here warning not to ride it. I didnt investigate, presumably forest work.
Carry on contouring to get to some of the less used stuff on the south side of Cockercombe. This was a bit chewed up in places, but we rode several trails down to the bottom of the combe and the small parking area where the uplift goes from.
so still there, just a bit messy currently.
Not sure about the usual DH stuff nearer Triscombe, sorry.
