I wonder if it will be the full red bull stream they show or will they have their own presenter there?

More importantly, do I set the alarm for silly o'clock or wake up as normal and watch the replay with brekkies?

Hmm, me neither, where is it usually shown? Pretty sure I've watched it on redbull previous years.

Different broadcast rights for the world champs innit, Think I'd still rather watch on RB, needs Warner commentary and Auntie beeb wouldn't approve of him I suspect...

Wow it seems it's not on Red Bull TV then.

Warner commentating on the BBC is probably wishful thinking. Though maybe if they replaced Claudio with Claire Balding...

They might tempt Phil Liggett out of retirement if we're lucky.

The last time the BBC showed the World Champs, Peaty won. So hopefully that's a good sign for the Brits!

Edit: I'm talking BS...that was when he won at Fort Bill on the Orange 😕

Wowzers, last time I sure it on 'proper' telly was when the Worlds was at Ft. Bill, I don't recall it being on when Peaty won but I wouldn't argue.

RBTV is a proper chaotic mess at the best of times, I wouldn't discount them having it.

They had him commentating on the BMX at the Olympics in 2012 - it was plain wrong.

Edit. Wasn't he "retired"?

Seems to be Fox Sports... is this the Fox of USA fame? Quite a change if that's the case.

Well given the show is getting going I've not seen anything Oz related in instagram from him or Claudio (in China apparently) and if Red Bull ain't paying...

That's the first thing I did.. stalk them on social media.

As you say, Claudio's in China which is a fairly common stop-over going to Aus, but...

Rob's been quite for a week.

Still, can't wait for this Geezer's course preview!

I love the BBC as much as anyone, but on this, they can suck it.

Best case scenario we get Ed Leigh commentating, but I bet he'll still have Clare Baldwin or some other moron as a foil.

Please don't speak that way about Ms Balding.

Last year there was a half hour highlights show of the worlds including Xc and trials on the iPlayer and I'm pretty sure warner did the commentary for it , but if I remember rightly it was without Claudio so he must of done it after , so hopefully the Beeb have got him onboard again

Anyone remember one of the winter Olympics a few years back when they had the snowboarding on and got the equivalent redbull commentators? They got over excited making it more interesting, but apparently they got a load of complaints afterwards.

I always look forward to Claudio's course preview, I think him and Rob Warner are like a proper double act now. Him and and Warner from a few years ago before he got toned down a bit are what the commentary should be like 😉

It would be nice if the BBC coverage wasn't crap but I think deep down we all know it will be 😆

It might be broadcast by the UCI on their youtube channel as well, although I can't find any details, I am pretty sure that is how they handle road and BMX so the could well be bringing mountain bike inline.

Red Bull did the race last time and probably sold the highlights package on after.

Claudio will be there in his team manager capacity. no reason why he wont do a course preview and stick it on his fb page...?

im sure they signed off the vds broadcast with a 'see you australia' too??

He doesn't really have a team at the World's unless he's covering a national squad

UCI will broadcast it in all countries on their Youtube channel unless that country has a broadcaster already covering it afaik. (assuming they have any media setup that is). So for us sadly it'll be crappy BBC... remember when Fontana's seat post snapped in the Olympics and the commentators didn't notice it for a number of laps.

Shirley the team managers, mechanics etc still go to the world's? Got to be a big thing marketing wise and bikes still need building and fixing.

Oh btw, looking at the wording of the BBC link.

It's "live from some ungodly hour" and highlights on the iPlayer.

If you want to watch it all (not sure if that'll be all the riders or the top 10/30 as per RBTV) then I think you can record redbutton on 991 on Virgin and 980 on Sky.

I meant Claudio as he is now and the Warner from a few years ago would make the best commentary team, probably wasn't that clear in what I wrote though looking back at it 😳

I saw Pagey was teasing as much the other day in Insta.

Makes sense as he;s been doing so well on it this year. I was hoping he'd be on the 290, but realise that's unlikely.

Now showing up on red bull schedule, whether this will be blocked in the UK or not I don't know.

Thank **** for that. Won't be blocked in UK.

Quite the British line-up!

Elite men

Gee Atherton
Adam Brayton
Laurie Greenland
Charlie Hatton
Danny Hart
Bernard Kerr
Jack Reading
Greg Williamson

Elite women

Rachel Atherton
Tahnee Seagrave

(I'm assuming the reason Manon isn't mentioned is because she retired after the initial list was published).

Greg Williamson was 6th at Cairns last year (Hart 11th), but yes Laurie will be good to watch.
I'm not a massive fan of Cairns to be honest though.

She came 4th. 2nd place in the splits until the final section where she lost loads of time. Sounds like she didn't want to risk her shoulder ahead of Cairns and Val de sol is a beast

Gee can turn it on for the worlds, and Danny will be going balls out to defend his jersey I imagine.
In the ladies it seems like Tracey Hannah must be the favourite but there are a few other contenders this year now that Rachael is off form. Love to see Tahnee take it home after missing out on the world cup overall.

Try spoofing your region settings, could well be completely sorted just region specific.
