Ok, it's not a massive issue but it's bugging me. Which front, which rear?
High Roller 2.1 eXCeption, Hutchinson Barracuda 2.1.
The HR is a little smaller and less knobby, but a grippier compound. The barracuda has more of a constant shoulder and closer spaced knobs, appearing a bit larger.
I figure I'll go through the HR too quickly on the back and it's grippier rubber would suit the front more. But to my snobby eyes it looks a little incorrect as the rear tyres a bit beefier than the front. I thought the idea was more traction up front for steering, a little drifty in the back for skidness so bigger F, smaller R?
I'll be on it in a bit, proof in the pudding I guess.
Tyres, which way round?
The nobbly bits on the outside, smooth bit on the inside.
Take the Barracuda, place it the correct way round on the front rim, fit a tube and inflate to the correct pressure.
Then take the High Roller, cut it into very small pieces and dispose of the remains.
Then, go to your local bike shop and buy an Maxxis Advantage or Specialized Purgatory and fit to the rear rim, following the instructions above. Careful not to pinch the tube.
