[Closed] Two pairs of budget wheels - which should I keep?

Ages ago I bought a pair of wheels from Planet X thinking of a 29er build in the future.

Then rather than a frame I bought a whole On One Scandal with 29er wheels already on it.

Now I need to decide which wheels I want to keep out of:
1. WTB I29 29er on Formula Boost 6 Bolt Wheelset Shimano 11 Speed (the Planet X ones, new in box)
2. Trucky30 on Novatec hubs (the ones that came on the Scandal)

1 seem heavy but I am not sure of Trucky ones quality (rims seem to be made by Mach1)

Which do you think are the better set to keep?

WTB rims on Novatec hubs would be my preference 😀

Which i29 rims are they? If it's an ST then they're pretty basic- heavy, quite denty.

TBH there's so much range with formula and novatec hubs... The best Novatecs are really good, the worst are unreliable and weigh a ton. AFAIK the best Formulas are still fairly low end but competent, while the worst are really basic oldschool cup-and-cone with poor sealing.

I have checked and yes the rims are the ST i29. On that basis and since those are the brand new in box ones I think I will sell on the Formula/WTB ones on.

I bought them for £129 so will see where the bike parts stock market has taken their value!

Personally I wouldn’t go near WTB i29 again

These were 27.5…

Hmmm… imagine I’d posted a photo of a rim that separated at the join without any warning as I was riding and threw me OTB.

What did both sets actually weigh?

Must admit I don't know the answer to that as one set is brand new and the other has tyres and cassette on. But I am willing to take the risk that the Trucky set cannot be heavier than the WTB set!
