I'm looking to go tubeless and I've got tubeless rims and tyres.
I was looking at a stans no tubes kit and can't decide whether to use the rim strips with the valve installed or just the rim tape and separate valves.
What do you think?
You only need rim tape and separate valves for stans rims. The rim strip is for converting normal rims to tubeless. Hope that helps.
If you have real tubeless rims (UST) you need nothing but possibly goop if tyres are 'only' tubeless ready not ust.
If you have tubeless ready rims like Stans, you want the tape and possibly goop, tyre depending.
If you have normal rims you want the rubber strip or a ghetto BMX tube plus goop depending on tyre and taste.
I would always use sealant or you lose the ability to self seal if you have a puncture.
Cheers guys,
Just rim tape and some goop then!!
What rims are they ?
They're Light-Bicycle 33mm Tubeless Rims
In that case you need 25mm rim tape, tubeless valves and sealant.
+1
I only run rimstrips on std rims or std tyres (or indeed both)
