...my first tubeless wheel set. The split is only a few mm in size, bit spilling out the air. Is this fixable? Tyre off and patch the back of it? This is where I miss tubes, know what I'm doing with them!

I managed to do the same on a new tyre, repaired it with the non stretch patch material in a zefal tubeless repair kit.

I've had this once or twice, mended it with the weldite kit. (Anchovies)
Didn't think patches would work because of how close the hole was to the edge of the tyre.

I've repaired small spilts (1-2mm) right next to the bead with a thick glue-on patch on the inside. The Weldtite kit repairs wouldn't work as they would have prevented the tyre seating.

Sew with dental floss, and glue too. Done it a few times now.

Hamish,
It does work with the weldite kit, I've done it! You just need to be a bit careful trimming it down.
