I've got a tear in the sidewall just above the bead. Has anybody managed a successful repair like this before?

Did this to a Continental. Emailed them and they replaced it for free, saying they wanted to look into why as they hadn't seen it before.

It's a continental ("protection") I have, pretty sure the reason it too low pressure and hitting a rock.

I'd drop them an email then, mine was a black-chilli baron. They were really good about the whole process, and I got a new pair of tyres out of it.
