So for a while ive had my fingers lock up most mornigns and evenings, not quite trigger finger in the medical sense where i cant unbend them but its a pain in the arse for counting small change etc.
I went to the doctors about it and he just said drink more fluids whilst riding. Maybe i should have asked for the steroid injection there and then but anywho...
What are the possible causes of this? It first started when i did some trail clearing and used an axe for the first time, probably over did it. That night i then got the flu ๐ I was also riding every day 20miles off road at that time.
So far i have - raised my handlebars, tried not to death grip as much, stopped riding for a week and even gone back to suspension (urg) . None of these stopped it in full but most have helped a little.
Anyone else experienced this and how did you get over it?
I get a similar thing on long distances in my little fingers, a sort of spreading numbness that prevents me fully straightening them without help. I put mine down to too much pressure on the nerves on the lower part of my palm, something that could be remedied with the right gloves.
I've yet to try it though as the bulk of my riding to work and back has been on the road bike.
