Looking at an entry level downhill bike.
Session 8 - Thin frame, dents easily on the downtube?
Sunn Radical S1 - Spec not as good as the Trek for the price.

Anyone ridden either or got any good opinions?

Saracen Myst. Looks really good for the price, because Madison are trying to rebuild the brand.
The suspension system looks like it'll work well (on paper at least) it could be the bargain bike of the year.

Those iron horses at CRC are going to be pretty hard to beat for the money.

Yep, the Saracen is worth a look, as is a Giant.

Treks are very light and ride really well. This does mean they dent if you hit big rocks etc but some tape or a chunk of old tyre at the bottom of the downtube seems to sort it out. Dirt rated it as one of the best ever when they reviewed it.

Sunn's are a bit more unknown, the old ones were great and basically the same design but don't know many people who've tried new ones.

Also worth looking at Solid's full build, 2900 list with good kit. Maybe consider looking at second hand bikes too, 1500-2000 will get you some very good bikes in mint condition.

Actually jambo has a point, 1500 for one of those sundays is bargain of the decade. Sundays ride really really well. Get the forks TF tuned (you'll need to do this on whatever bike you get) and it'll never be what's holding you back.

Almost bought the Sunday team as it was such a good bargain. However they have no stock now. Sunn have a good history going back. The Trek looks the part. I think all Treks do at the moment.
