...that the A1 will be shut till lunchtime.
From the Highways Agency website:
"The A1 southbound will be closed between the junctions with the A6136 Catterick South and the A168 due to roadworks, from 6 am on 4 September 2010 to 12:30 pm on 5 September 2010."

They are removing Leases bridge (just before the Leeming Bar junction) to accomodate the new motorway.
