Always used BMC in the past but haven't been abroad to cycle for a few years. Anyone recommend anyone else worth trying, or is no one better than BMC? Cover for one week and needs to include lift-assissted, above 2,000m, repatriation, possible heli rescue etc etc. Ta v much.
Snowcard. Never claimed but the cover is good.
I've been with Snowcard for over 6 years. This year I had to me be airlifted out, was in Italy. Snowcard were superb. Well worth the extra expense in my opinion. All I did was notify them and they did everything else only to contact me with updates as to shipping my bike home, liaison with hospital I was in for 2weeks, liaison with Riviera Cycling (Jo and Ady were absolutely fantastic). Flew out my girlfriend for as long as she wanted all expenses paid they arranged all fflights, hotels, and transfers. Then they flew out a doctor to escort me home (BA Business Class) all to the door. Snowcards efficiency was superb. All I did was concentrate on recovering awaiting discharge, which s how it should work.
There are other cheaper insurance companies out there, I for one highly recommend Snowcard, no hassle insurance when it all goes belly up.
Good to hear Swelper, hope you are doing ok.
Another vote for Snowcard here. Excellent when my other half was injured and dealt with a belated claim against her 3 years later even though we no longer used them.
I use them for MTB trips abroad every year.
Snowcard for me too after the other ones seem to have reduced cover/liability.
Snowcard seem to cover everything, which is more importnant than saving £5.
BMC are just stupid expensive now. I used ETA for bike tour this summer worth checking out if they do what you need.
Is there anyone that will just cover the 'extreme' 🙂 portion of a holiday- this year I had to buy three weeks cover for our holiday, despite only wanting cover for the first week.
Vinnyeh: Snowcard should be able to sort you out there.
