Family week in Trallwm forest this week. We are of course taking the bikes for at least 1 or 2 days of riding. Never been there before - does anyone know the current conditions of the trails? Is there anywhere else to aim for nearby? Any local knowledge help? Blue/Red grade so that all of us can ride it. Hoping for a non mudfest.

Cwm Rhaeadr not too far away. Red grade, but everything is rollable. Easy climb, fun descent.
Great condition at the moment. Dry and dusty.

Dry? Dusty? What are these strange conditions of which you speak?

I've been to Trallwm twice, although it was a while ago. Are you staying the cottages?

The black is an extension of the blue. The blue is surfaced and should be rideable for little ones, I don't have any so I'm no expert. The red was a bit unkept when I was there, it was 1 line on the decent the width of a tyre. Black is (was) the same.

I really like it there, lovely quiet place.

Head for the hills.
Lot of stuff up behind Georges beyond the fence, but tends to be boggy year round up on the commons, but remote epic style stuff over the Abergwesyn Commons, Elan and Tywi.
As mentioned, Cwm Rhaeder for trail centre trails.
